2010 Fred's Footsteps Video

Fred's Footsteps provides direct financial support to families who have found themselves in a financial crisis due to the costs associated with caring for a critically or chronically sick child.

Our program provides direct financial assistance to families in the Philadelphia area who have found themselves in a financial crisis due to the costs associated with caring for a chronically or critically ill child.

The families selected for the program are middle class, working families who are otherwise financially stable until they find themselves with the tremendous financial burden of caring for a sick child. They are a population who often do not qualify for assistance from government programs or other charitable organizations, but their needs are very real.

Families selected to be a part of this program receive support from Fred’s Footsteps for a full year during the child’s illness. This program focuses on the family as a whole and not only the sick child. Since each family has different circumstances, over the course of the year we work with the families individually to identify their unique set of needs. Our hope is that, while we cannot take away all of their problems, we can help to improve the quality of their lives.
